Over at Sound of the City, Zach Baron has amassed some pretty compelling evidence that Kanye West’s “Monster” video — a somewhat unfinished version of which leaked about a week ago — is a shameless rip-off of Dr. Dog’s 2008 clip for “The Ark.” Not only do the two videos share a fascination with severed heads and disembodied hands, but Kanye also blogged about “The Ark” when it came out, in an entry that has since been deleted. When Baron contacted Dr. Dog’s director for comment, he said “Monster” and “The Ark” share an “eerie similarity.” Watch both videos after the jump and render your verdict in the comments.

Yes, yes he did.
aside from the severed head-holding (which only constitutes about 10 seconds of the “monster” video) there is nothing similar about these videos. there are a lot more legitimate reasons to hate on kanye.
