Over a month ago, we posted a gallery of images from Annie Leibovitz’s Disney Parks ad campaign. The photos substitute celebrities for Disney’s most famous cartoon characters, resulting in amusing portraits of Queen Latifah as Ursula from The Little Mermaid and BeyoncĂ© as Alice in Wonderland. Little did we know that Leibovitz’s most wonderful shot was yet to come: Johnny Depp as Captain Jack Sparrow — flanked by Patti Smith, looking right at home in pirate garb. This feels far more appropriate than Patti Smith in a Disney ad should, but considering that she and Depp’s Sparrow both draw style inspiration from Keith Richards, it also makes a certain amount of sense.
