DeviantART can be a rabbit hole of bizarre and amateurish fan tributes, but every once in a while it comes through with something truly fantastic. Such is the case with a new project from a user who goes by the handle DrFaustusAU, that mashes up Dr. Seuss and H.P. Lovecraft to create a “beginning readers” version of The Call of Cthulu, written in rhyme and drawn in a nearly flawless mimicry of the good doctor’s style. He’s already gotten 11 pages into the tale; we’re hoping not only that he’ll finish the book, but that he’ll find a way to make it available for purchase, perhaps in time for the holidays? We can think of no better present for the sci-fi/fantasy fans in our life.

This is awesome.
The drawings are wonderful, the idea superb
But the rhymes don’t quite scan and have the odd extra word.
Sorry couldn’t resist….. I would LOVE to see more of this.
where is the rest of it?
OMG. That is fantastic. ;-D
This neeeeeds to be finished. And I want one!
You’ve misspelled Cthulhu in your headline. The spelling on the book cover is the correct one.
