When you make a temporary camp away from home, what do you do with it?
When cleaning up after yourself is far less important than making sure you have a future, what do you do?
It’s painfully obvious that those that can fix things just want to sling mud.
when i taught at the ahmadu bello university in northern nigeria a couple of years ago the average dorm room did look nearly as good or have as many amenities
Geez, I might have to send my son down to one of the protests, (depending on the weather…wouldn’t want my Justin to get cold after all.)
Tent cities on government land, with everything donated by guilt ridden capitalists, rich and poor alike! Thanks Obama! You’re really bringing us to our knees. Are you happy yet? Nope probably not.
“Earth to Obama, you’re not the 5th Imam, if you believe that, then afraid it’s bad news, you’re insane!” And if our leader is indeed insane, hmmm, that doesn’t look too good for the rest of us down here in dumb f*ckville.
Anyway, at least I’ll get that professional freeloader out of my basement. Maybe he’ll figure out how to survive on his own for a change! Oh wait, that’s not the opposite of this movement isn’t it? Oh dear, now I’m really confused. Love, Mom
What an awesome “art” display of life’s losers. Fantastic!
Next up: an artistic photo display of the OWS peeps defecating on police cars. Can’t wait! Power to the people!
To Nicole, the writer of this article, and more significantly, her editors… That’s not the correct usage of the word “flocked” in the first sentence. I am all for deconstructing the english language, in almost any forum. Really, break all the rulez! But that’s just bad writing. A single person can not have “flocked”. The word is used for groups, as in a “flock” of birds or locus. Can Flavorpill be considered serious journalism with a glaring mistake like that, sent out at the top of the daily issue? Not so much.
BTW, I am completely supportive of the protesters. This is not about discrediting them. Give them the respect that they are due with better writing and editing.
Kind of horrifying to read the right wing rants on this site. I have noticed that protests in London are better set up than the ones in the US. More artistic, better displays. I took some great pics of an anti war protest with a dragon in London in 2010.You could take a nice pic from the cab. not so in N York at least when I drove by.
get it together kids! Or maybe it is the well financed t baggers that have all the good display? The certainly have the time to infiltrate the movement and spread rumors.
wow, what a hateful, spiteful, petty bunch! These photos are great. n insight into uncertainty. Isn’t that the point of this post?

Well, the far right has had their moment in the comment section – anybody else want to chime in? Times have changed since the 60s protest groups. But the people in th OCcupy groups bring what they have, share with others and protezst against companies which make millions or billions of dollars in profits, most of whcih got to CEOs and corporate honchos who pay as little as possible to employees that they demand have college credentials. Those kids can’t get any job without come college – and even that state college costs more than it used to. The elderly no longer have pensions to count on, because employers think they should’ve invested – like those aforementioned CEOs do. Although the CEOs have money left after the bank declares it can’t pay investors with less than (fill in the blank, but probably more than the little guy had to invest in an IRA). You get the point? OWS is against monopolies, thieves and overpaid honchos who really don’t do much except push other people around. Presumably, the fact that they can get people to do what they want makes them worth excessive bonuses and obscene salaries. I don’t think so – and neither do millions of other people. Some of them are brave or foolhardy enough to be Occupiers…
@Mom, I am not sure what you are saying but these are pics from London. What does Obama have to do with that?
I see a will to make space livable. I really liked that someone brought a piano. The spaces obviously mean different things to the different people inhabiting them, but they all bring what they need to survive. Humor, art, music, food and spirituality, it is good to see people practicing what they preach; money isn’t everything.
It’s interesting how the pro-homosexual left likes to use the word “tea bagger” (one post on this board in particular). Do you have a clue what teabagger means? It is a homosexual sex act you are making fun of, and the comment is bigoted towards the very people you claim to support. What tolerance! It is juvenile.
There is no debate whatsoever that the OWS crew is a sick, disgusting group of parasites, miscreants, malcontents, thugs, hippies, and in general, life’s losers.
Interesting how some of the more uneducated of populace like to compare them to the tea party. The tea party did not urinate in streets, throw rocks at cops, break windows of businesses, spray paint buildings, defecate on police cars, and “occupy” without obtaining permits. Get it straight. And get a life.
As a side note, studies have shown that those most likely to use to phrase “tea bagger” happily perform the act.
@Mom
Oh jeeez wouldja just read a little, please? These tents are in
**********ENGLAND**************
Not the US.
And Obama has nothing to do with any of this. If you can’t lead or don’t want to follow, then get the hell out of the way so the rest of us can change our world.
if you’re a OWS supporter, get off your computer immediately – it was made by a greedy corporation, which got it’s start through a greedy bank loan by a greedy bank. Close down your web browser, which is likely made by greedy Microsoft. And get off Facebook, the CEO is worth billions and is greedy, and they have plans to go public next year in an IPO floated by a greedy Wall Street brokerage. And protest Barrack Hussein Obama, who accepted the largest amount of Wall Street $$$ in history for his campaign – and then gave even more of it back to them as a bailout to keep the fat salaries flowing and the greedy Wall Street shareholders happy.
If you don’t do all the above, admit hypocrisy.
Nice idea by the artist to share these images with us. God bless the people bearing the cold and uncomfortable situations to make a better world for us all. There are a lot of people who support your efforts and appreciate them. Thank you.
Unlike the Tea Party, the people who are committed to the Occupy movement are at least fighting for their own interests, whether they have a plan or even totally understand what they’re up against. The amazing thing about many people who firmly stand on the Right in the U.S. is that they don’t even realize they’re working against themselves. Either they’re too stubborn or unaware to admit that the Republican Party’s only real goal is to protect the wealth of the rich. So if you eliminate the rich and the Religious Right, you’re left with millions of people who vote in contrast to their own interests. Back in ’04, they were led to believe that terrorists would take over the country if the Dems won. Time bore that out as a lie. Now, what’s the excuse? That they’re protecting their own future because they too will be rich some day? Ridiculous!
Hey flavorpill, really poor form to take these images from my website without asking for permission, and even adding your own badly written editorial instead of actually ASKING ME for some commentary. Lousy ethics and shoddy journalism.
Occupy people don’t live there. Occupy followers I know do have their own homes and jobs to be to. This photos really doesn’t show anything that impresses me. What time of day were your photos taken AND why do you have the right to snoop into others people’s space? The tents are for shelter, not a place to move furniture and china into.
@Flea_Party…Please address people properly whether criticizing them or praising them….his correct address is President Barrack Hussein Obama to you…unless you work for Fox News…then it’s Mr. Obama.
