As kids, we found the “This Is Your Brain on Drugs” commercials with the frying egg inexplicably terrifying, so we’re not quite sure how we would have reacted to these disturbing new anti-meth PSAs, which were directed by Darren Aronofsky. Remember people, this is the man who brought us the electrocution scene in Requiem for a Dream and all of Nina’s gross scratching and nail peeling in Black Swan. He’s not exactly afraid of making the viewer uncomfortable — or in this case, completely horrified. Brilliant work by Aronofsky. I’m proud he donated his skills to help prevent the damage caused by this utterly destructive substance. I’m also happy to see the truth instead of a bunch of sugar coated bull shit.
