Chevy Chase Slams ‘Community’ Again

Community creator Dan Harmon and Chevy Chase engaged in a very ugly feud last month that started with Chase walking off the set on the final day of shooting and ended with Harmon publicly sharing an angry voicemail from the actor with a crowd of 150 people. Harmon later apologized, calling it a “horrible, childish, self-obsessed, unaware, naive and unprofessional decision” on his part, and it seemed like everyone was ready to move on.

Not so fast! There’s apparently now a second “more candid” audio recording of Chase’s rant that has been obtained exclusively by Celebuzz. “It’s just a fucking mediocre sitcom,” he says in the message to Harmon. “I want people to laugh and this isn’t funny… It ain’t funny to me because I’m 67 years old and I’ve been doing this a long time. I’ve been making a lot of people laugh — a lot better than this.”

Note: According to Chase’s spokesperson, who refused to offer comment to Celebuzz, this recording is 12 months old — but we’re not sure that will really matter to fans given Chase’s recent behavior (which as Gawker recently pointed out, is really nothing new). Do you think he’s integral to Community’s success, or at this point, would they be better off if Chase made good on his recent hints of a permanent exit? [via Huff Post TV]
