If you ask us, the mash-up is a rather overdone (and often poorly done) art — and we’ve been thinking recently that we could probably do without ever hearing another. We were wrong. We’ve just heard an impossibly awesome version of Neutral Milk Hotel’s classic album In the Aeroplane Over the Sea, remixed with various rap and hip-hop songs to become Neutral Bling Hotel’s In My G4 Over Da Sea. Psycosis, a self-described “video game programmer who accidentally found audio editing software and the world has been paying the price ever since,” has mixed Kanye West, Jay-Z, Dr. Dre and more of your favorites with our good old former recluse Jeff Mangum (it’s about time he made some new friends). And “Oh Comely” mashed up with “Teach Me How to Dougie”? It’s everything we never knew we always wanted.
