‘Lost’ Showrunner Brings ‘Psycho’ Prequel to A&E

What an exciting time for Losties! Late last week we told you about a very promising sounding new HBO series from Damon Lindelof. Now, Inside TV is reporting that A&E has ordered 10 episodes of a prequel to Psycho from the other Lost showrunner, Carlton Cuse, who will co-executive produce the drama series with Kerry Ehrin (Friday Night Lights). Not too shabby, eh?

According to the network’s press release, Bates Motel will look at “the formative years of Norman Bates, [his] relationship with his mother, Norma, and the world they inhabit” — all set in the present day. “Viewers will have access to the dark, twisted backstory and learn first-hand how Norma helped forge the most famous serial killer of them all,” they explain. Does this sound like a show that would pique your interest? If so, who do you think they should get to play young Norman and his overbearing mother?
