There are times when ripping off British comedies for American TV audiences really works. See: The Office. Then there are major misfires, like Coupling or AbFab. The fact that NBC decided not to air this American version of The IT Crowd starring Joel McHale and Richard Ayoade (who also played Maurice Moss in the original), is probably a clue as to which of the two scenarios this line-by-line remake falls under, but we’ll let you watch the pilot and decide for yourselves. Perhaps a less faithful adaptation would have been a better idea?
