MetroCard Collages Pay Homage to New York City

Share:

When we spotted New York City designer Nina Boesch’s MetroCard collages on website Houhouhaha, we were happy to see someone putting the plastic transit tickets to good use. Normally the expired cards end up as bookmarks or coasters, but Boesch uses them to create realistic portraits of New York icons and symbols like John Lennon, Woody Allen, and the Statue of Liberty. The yellow, black, blue, and orange self-referential artworks are a fun way to pay homage to one of the greatest cities in the world. See where Boesch’s MetroCards go when they die past the break, and praise her skillful use of scissors, past the break.
