If you’ve been following Ze Frank’s career, then you know that he’s a huge fan of virtual collaboration. For his latest trick, the Internet whiz convinced 2,601 different members of his A Show community to come together to create a single song. The intro text to the video provides a nice breakdown of who did what: “786 people submitted percussion sounds. 1305 people mixed those sounds into beats using an online sequencer. 186 added instruments or back-up vocals. 96 people sang lyrics or submitted melodies. 247 people choreographed and performed this video.” The end result — which is equal parts beautiful and haunting — was created by layering all of those submissions, with Christopher Norman stepping in to remix the audio into just one track.
