Arguably the greatest artist in the history of glass sculpture, Dale Chihuly has helped turn the craft of blowing glass into an exhilarating art form.
Inspired by the natural and the historical, Chihuly’s sensuous art objects and colorful installations are unlike almost anything that preceded them. From imaginary ikebana and innovative chandeliers in galleries to simulated reeds and spears in actual gardens, the work of the widely collected and often-commissioned artist creates the world anew in a rainbow array of hand-blown glass.
