Exciting news for creative types: Pernod® just launched the second installment of its Creator Of Contest. Founded in 1805, Pernod® has long been a patron of the arts — its Absinthe quickly catching on in French cafes and salons. Over the years the drink has inspired such greats as Picasso, Manet, Van Gogh and Degas. And now, Pernod® is seeking today’s emerging talents in the visual arts.
What do you need to do enter? Create an artwork that is inspired by Pernod®’s creative rich history in any of the following categories: Painting, Illustration, Photography, Video, or Digital/Animation. The art must be original and must include the date of Pernod’s® founding, 1805. Entries for the 2011 Creator Of contest will be accepted until January 31, 2011. You can submit your work exclusively online through their Facebook page, http://www.facebook.com/pernodabsinthe .
The first place winner will take home $1805, with second and third awarded $1,000 and $750, respectively. Winners will also get valuable exposure during a celebration to be held concurrently with the 2011 Armory Show, New York City’s international art fair.
