Ever since we learned that Mad Men‘s resident smooth operator, Roger Sterling, was writing a memoir, we’ve wanted to read it. Oh, sure, we realize that he’s a fictional character. But we still long to hear the secrets of advertising silver fox. So imagine our surprise to learn that we really, really will!
Next month, Grove/Atlantic will publish Sterling’s Gold: Wit and Wisdom of an Ad Man . The faux memoir will include such gems of Sterling wisdom as, “Being with a client is like being in a marriage. Sometimes you get into it for the wrong reasons and eventually they hit you in the face” and “Remember, when God closes a door, he opens a dress.” Ah, yes. That’s our Roger. [via GalleyCat]
