Filmmaker Neill Blomkamp — who scored an Oscar nod for his screenplay for 2009’s District 9, which he also directed — has a mysterious video teaser in the latest iPad digital version of WiReD Magazine that’s generating some buzz. In the shaky, minute-long clip, two guys in a car discover what looks like a dead alien on the side of a dirt road. And then they proceed to touch it with their bare hands. The creature is inexplicably stamped with the words “18.12 AGM Heartland Pat Pend USA” and “US Inspected And Approved.”
According to Slashfilm, this video probably not related to a film project, as Blomkamp is busy at work on Elysium, a sci-fi flick that is supposed to be set on another planet. That said, we’d watch this movie if an extended version did exist. (Also: Wouldn’t it be nice if that’s how the film industry decided which projects to greenlight?
