Bill Watterson’s College Cartoons


Years before his world-famous Calvin and Hobbes strip debuted in 1986, Bill Watterson was a political science major at Kenyon College from 1976 to 1980. Luckily for us, Watterson was already practicing his art, drawing cartoons for The Kenyon Collegian. Here are some of his frames that appeared in the school’s 1980 yearbook. For any current college students or recent grads, you’ll see college life hasn’t changed all that much.
