On the ninth (or whatever) day of Christmas, the internet gave to us… a trio of vibrant, stylish, young Catholic women performing their own version of Ke$ha’s “Tik Tok.” It is called “Our God Really Rocks.” Sample lyrics: “I wake up in the morning knowin’ that I’m a sinner/ Tell the priest my confession, that’ll make me a winner.” There may also be a breakdown that includes a hardcore Matthew 16:18 quotation. Our favorite part is either the person sitting near the camera who says, about halfway through, that she can’t decipher the words or the lei-wearing adults (this is a “luau,” after all) who look completely baffled. We may not have ever been teenage Christians, but we can all relate to youthful embarrassment.
