If you’ve had struggling artist friends, you’ve heard all the complaints in this video, from overpriced, shared studios to elusive fellowships to group shows. And yet, they somehow feel fresh and funny when set to the tune of Skee-Lo’s immortal 1995 one-hit wonder “I Wish” by a pair of Brooklynites sitting against a graffiti-covered wall. To wit: “I wish I had a filthy rich patron/ I wish I had vacation/ I wish I had no job in this lame corporation/ I wish I had a trust fund with more dough than J. Lo/ And a pretty painting apron.”
