So we find this kind of annoying, even though we penned our senior thesis long, long ago, when most college kids were still using landlines: Quick Cite, a new $.99 app out for iPhone and Android, uses a smartphone’s camera to scan the barcode on the back of a book and then puts together your bibliography for you in the style of your choice — PA, MLA, Chicago, or IEEE. Just think how much time that would save you! And no more typing-related fatigue! The app was developed by seven undergraduates at the University of Waterloo who spent seven days writing code for fun while drinking a lot of coffee. We almost wish that we had a dissertation to write just so that we could try it out. Almost. [via Fast Company]
