Children of the ’90s, prepare to have your minds blown. You know those adorable, little girls on the cover of Smashing Pumpkins’s Siamese Dream? Well, according to Billy Corgan (who, it’s worth mentioning, is not the world’s most reliable narrator), the kid on the left is actually new SP bassist Nicole Fiorentino. Quoth the Great Pumpkin, “Just found out the weirdest news: our bass player Nicole (@xocoleyf) just admitted she is one of the girls on the cover of Siamese Dream. She said she didn’t want us to know because she thought maybe we wouldn’t let her be in the band.”
Considering that Fiorentino is over 30, the photo was either taken about a decade before the album’s 1993 release (which is entirely possible) or someone is full of shit. Interestingly, Corgan posted an appeal in 2007 to find the Siamese Dream cover girls. “As you all know, they were quite young when the photo was taken. They are not conjoined anymore, as far as we know,” he wrote. Was Fiorentino a conjoined twin? Did Corgan know what he was talking about then? Does he now? Well, what do you think? [via Kottke]
