Photo Gallery: Charmaine Olivia’s Whimsical Wood Paintings

Share:

Charmaine Olivia, a self-taught San Franciscan artist, paints often strange, ever dreamy portraits on wood and canvas. She is fascinated with tattoos and the artistic representation thereof, as well as the incorporation of animalistic elements into human figures, lending her characters a mythic, almost Native American feel. She also happens to be a photographer and an illustrator, in case beautiful paintings weren’t enough for one girl, but all of her work has a striking, weird femininity to it that perplexes and enchants. Click through for a few of her paintings, and visit her website for more of everything.
