Lions, tigers, and bears, oh my! Actually, there are no lions or tigers, but there’s definitely a jaguar, and a crab, and they’re literally hanging on this chick’s every word. Artist Paige Thompson, whose pretty trail we picked up courtesy of the ever facepaint-forward Refinery 29, takes cosmetics to the next level in a series she calls “Animalipstick,” wherein she paints different animals on and around her own mouth and photographs them in various states of emotion. Sounds like a job for someone with a steady hand and a lot of practice, but far from making use of any professional paints or equipment, Thompson uses plain water-based face paint, at least some of which she found around her house left over from Halloween, and simple brushes. Click through to see her puckered portrayals of critters, from pandas to pikachus.

Foxy lady, comin’ to getcha! This fox looks a little pursed, though.

Don’t be fooled by the blunt incisors – this jaguar’s ferocious.

Panda Pensive

Panda Surprised!

We’ll dodge the dirty joke and say that we’d love to see this on Hipster Ariel.

Hungry Hungry Hippos, anyone?

This reminds us of another technicolor caterpillar with bizarre habits.

Gotta catch ’em all!

The newest in goth.

Except – wait. Is that Bulgakov’s Behemoth? Are these… literary lips? We like to think they are.

Talk about a bee-stung kisser.

We hope her lips aren’t as scaly as they look.
