What’s On at Flavorpill: The Links That Made the Rounds in Our Office

Today at Flavorpill, we were happy to see Emma Donoghue, Julie Orringer, and Jennifer Egan among the talented authors on the longlist for this year’s Orange Prize. We were intrigued by the results of a new study that shows that having demanding job can be just as bad for mental health as having no job at all. We wondered if it would actually be possible to ride this customized Hollander art bike that was “crushed” by Ai Weiwei. We were impressed by how much more surreal bra ads used to be. We liked this poster featuring 100 pop musicians and their most memorable haircuts. We wanted to decorate our walls with these incredible camera decals by Billy Brown. We met the world’s most expensive dog, an 11-month-old Tibetan mastiff named Hong Dong. We revisited eight mostly forgotten ’90s cartoons. We listened to Fredrik Larsson cover some of the greatest hits from The Simpsons in this 8-song medley. We watched a new extended teaser for the second season of Treme. And finally, thanks to this handy new Facebook app, we had Pee-wee Herman call up all of our friends.
