Here’s a treat for the Stanley Kubrick fans among us: the famed auteur’s first feature-length film, Fear and Desire , is now available online for your viewing pleasure. While is this such a big deal? Thanks to the efforts of both Kubrick and his estate, Fear and Desire has always been almost impossible to get your hands on (there’s rumored to be only one “official” copy in existence), and while there was talk late last year of “a major restoration effort” and eventual DVD release, now you don’t have to wait for that to happen — or watch the film in awkward 10-minute chunks on YouTube, for that matter.
