Today at Flavorpill, we announced our Internet Week NY event today: the Flavorpill Culture Hunt. We tried to identify all 91 of the film references in this awesome movie map of New York. We watched a teaser for Beyoncé’s “Who Run the World (Girls)” music video, as well as some footage of her getting down with the middle schoolers of PS 161. We thought that Jerry Seinfeld looked a bit like Napoleon Dynamite in his first TV appearance back in 1977. We were surprised to learn that koalas have exactly the same fingerprints as humans do. We wanted to go to here. We found out why asparagus makes your pee smell. We wondered if George Washington’s beer recipe will be any good. And finally, after viewing this beautiful clip from Terrence Malick’s upcoming Brad Pitt/Sean Penn movie, The Tree of Life, we remained just as confused — and intrigued — by it.
