Did ‘Glee’ Producers Rip Off a College Acappella Group?

So here’s a sentence that we never thought we’d write: An all female acappella rendition of Usher’s “Yeah!” is at the center of new controversy surrounding next week’s season finale of Glee. So what’s the deal? According to “sources within acappella circles,” the show’s producers had been working with Divisi, a women’s group at the University of Oregon, who released a cover of the song back in 2005. But when a deal fell through, it sounds like the show’s producers — who are obviously not as principled as the New Directions — went ahead and used Divisi’s arrangement anyway.
