Some exciting news for those of us who can’t wait for the much-discussed Party Down movie (or simply don’t believe it will ever really happen): Our friends at Splitsider are reporting that in an upcoming episode of Childrens Hospital, which is fittingly entitled “Party Down,” former castmates Lizzy Caplan, Martin Starr, and Ryan Hansen are all listed as guest stars (Ken Marino and Megan Mullally are already regulars on the series). The premise behind the episode, as Rob Corddry recently explained to Entertainment Weekly: “It’s discovered that Glenn has never had a bar mitzvah, so Malin Akerman’s character Valerie throws him [one], and it’s catered.” Even if it’s just a quick cameo by the Party Down crew, we’re excited to see them sharing the small screen again.
In other Party Down-related news, it was also just announced that Lizzy Caplan and Martin Starr will join Alison Brie and Geoffrey Arend (Mr. Christina Hendricks) in the cast of Save the Date, an indie romantic comedy about two sisters — one who is “ambivalent” about her future and the other who is “more at peace with life.” We don’t know about you, but given the talent involved, this one is going to the top of our can’t-wait-to-see list.
