Photos of Perfectly Symmetrical, "Attractive" Faces

Share:

Is facial symmetry really the key to physical beauty? Australia-based artist Julian Wolkenstein’s investigates the myth with project Echoisms, splitting his photo subjects’ faces precisely in half and creating two mirrored portraits of seemingly different, slightly strange people. Do they get cuter or creepier? Is one doubled side more attractive than the other? Is the whole experiment a bust because these people started out pretty in the first place? See our gallery and judge for yourself. Got a webcam? Try it for yourself with the project’s ongoing, interactive component at Echoism.org.
