Help Save the 'Bottle Rocket' Motel

When they learned that the Days Inn on I-35 in Hillsboro, Texas — the motel that prominently featured in Wes Anderson’s debut feature film Bottle Rocket — was in danger of shuttering, the good people at the Alamo Drafthouse decided to help save it by robbing a book store, and then going on the lam. Just kidding. In reality, they’ve extended this year’s Texas Rolling Roadshow, and are teaming up with several partners (including Reservoir Geeks) to host a special fundraising screening at the iconic indie film location this Saturday night. There will also be a limited-edition Mondo poster for the event designed by Chicago artist Rich Kelly up for sale, with a portion of the proceeds going to support the cause. If all 225 aren’t immediately snatched up on site (which to be honest, isn’t very likely), @MondoNews will have the details on how to grab one online. [via Slashfilm]
