Considering that we are incapable of cutting even a straight line, we are spellbound by the delicacy of Spanish artist Lorenzo Duran’s work, which we spotted at Designboom. Inspired by the the paper-cutting techniques of Chinese, Swiss and Japanese artists, Duran produces his art by meticulously carving and cutting fallen leaves that he washes and presses. The results are stunning — each piece is a unique creation, featuring intricate geometric shapes or serene scenes of nature. After the jump, check out some of Duran’s amazing cut-away leaf pieces and be sure to head to his personal blog, Natura y Arte, for more.
