Back in the ’70s, pre-Swordfishtrombones, Tom Waits was a sort of mumbling jazz throwback — which made him absolutely perfect for the video below, an animated short film that has him dancing around a city lamp post with a stripper in the wee hours of the morning. The video, soundtracked (very appropriately) by Waits’s “The One That Got Away,” was created to test some rotoscoping-related technology for Ralph Bakshi’s 1981 film American Pop.
