The Avengers movie may have been the most pressing reason for Joss Whedon to take the stage at Comic-Con over the weekend, but Digital Spy is reporting that his appearance also brought some promising news for Buffy the Vampire Slayer fans: Whedon is interested in adapting the series for a Broadway musical. “I can’t say that I will, or that by the time I try to, anyone would want me to, but yeah, I think [Buffy] belongs there,” he told the crowd. While his modesty is charming, we think it’s pretty obvious that there will always be an audience for Buffy on Broadway. Hell, eight years after the cult show went off the air, fans are still buying comic books and lining up for midnight sing-along screenings of the TV series’s musical episode. Joss, we know you’re busy in Hollywood, but come on — let’s make this happen.
