We’ve all been there. You’re running a few minutes late for work or an important meeting, and the hordes of people streaming out of the subway station entrance make it impossible to navigate the stairs without commuter surfing. If only there was a clever solution that didn’t involve touching strangers… But wait, there is! While it looks like a really awesome slide to us, what you see above is a “transfer accelerator,” which was designed by Dutch railway maintenance company ProRail to help speed things along at Utrecht’s recently renovated Overvecht station. Click through to watch a quick clip of it being put to good use, and let us know in the comments if you’d like to see this idea brought stateside.
