The 2012 Guinness Book of World Records is out, detailing the longest, shortest, fastest, and most numerous record-breakers in the world. While we’re not going crazy over the world’s longest cucumber, the largest can pyramid, or the oldest man to swim the English Channel, one winner has caught our attention. We’re in love with Aevin Dugas’ gorgeous mane, which has earned this 36-year-old social worker a spot in the Guinness Book of World Records for having the world’s largest natural afro.
A New Orleans native, Aevin Dugas says that her four-foot afro has taken her 12 years to grow out, though she does trim it three times a year. She also uses up to five conditioners at a time when washing it.
According to the Guinness Book of World Records, Dugas’ hair is so big, it can fit the world’s shortest man inside. Dugas, the proud owner of the record-breaking afro, also tells Guinness, “You want to know the best thing about my hair? It provides the perfect pillow. I sleep very well.” Aevin Dugas further discusses her winning afro below.
