Fun fact: On this day back in 1865, the first edition of Herman Melville’s classic novel Moby Dick was published in the UK as three volumes and under a different title — The Whale — in order to avoid “offending delicate political and moral sensibilities.” While most of the items that we’ve collected in literary homage bear no resemblance to the great white sperm whale of Captain Ahab’s obsession (they’re way too smiley), we’re hoping that they’ll help spruce up your apartment with a bit of nautical whimsy.
