Photo Gallery: Amazing Soviet-Era Bus Stops

Share:

Talking about finding creativity where you least expect it: these Russian roadside bus stops — which we spotted over on iGNANT — function as incredibly unique works of public art, seemingly plopped down in the middle of nowhere. Documented by photographer Christopher Herwig, first on a cycling trip that he took through the Baltic countries to St. Petersburg, and then on several subsequent road trips around Central Asia, these wonderful Soviet-era structures, which vary wildly in shape and design, face being modernized out of existence today. Click through to check out a slide show before they disappear completely.
