Seth McFarlane Working on a New Female-Fronted Animated Series

Name a current animated series geared toward adults that features a female lead character. What’s that? You can’t? Well, the good news is that thanks to Family Guy creator Seth McFarlane and Alex Borstein (a former MADtv actress who you might better know as the voice of Lois Griffin), that could be about to change. The pair are currently working on a new project for Fox, and while there aren’t many details currently available, Borstein told Digital Spy that she’ll be voicing the show’s main character, and along with her and McFarlane, Gary Janetti (has written for Family Guy and was an executive producer on Will and Grace) will produce. “I think that the last female-centered animated show that I can remember was Daria,” says Borstein. “We’re kind of raring to go and just waiting to get the green light to start setting up and writing — so it’s very exciting!” We agree. Hopefully this show actually happens! [via The Mary Sue]
