OneDreamRush 42-Second Film Showcase: 42 Different Directors Go Oneiric

New Zealand vodka company 42Below and the Beijing Film Studios have partnered to sponsor 42×42: a website housing forty-two 42-second shorts from, yep, 42 creative types from across the planet. The high-flown premise: each piece is inspired by the director’s dreams. Sure, it’s a marketing gimmick, but the product placement is near nil and the commissioned names speak for themselves: David Lynch, Kenneth Anger, Jonas Mekas, Harmony Korine, Gaspar Noé, Asia Argento, Larry Clark, and Charles Burnett. Oh, and there’s James Franco, Chan Marshall, Sean Lennon, Terrence Koh, and Chris Milk, who directed the incredible music video for Gnarls Barley’s “Who’s Gonna Save My Soul.”

Currently, only a few are complete (including Argento’s strange ode to transsexuals), but the gonzo trailer should provide enough optic punch to tide you over until more surreal bits are unleashed.
