Some potentially exciting news for Louis CK fans: The stand-up comedian has teamed up with Seinfeld alum Spike Feresten on a new pilot that the pair just sold to CBS. There aren’t many details to go on at this point, but according to James Hibberd at Inside TV, “the untitled project is an ensemble comedy about ‘young people trying to achieve their creative dreams in these tough financial times.'” Topical!
While we realize it’s not very likely, we’ve got our fingers crossed that CBS grants Louis CK as much creative freedom as FX has given him on Louie, a show which he writes, directs, executive produces, and stars in. “I got it by demanding it and refusing to do the show any other way at all and by having the leverage that I was completely willing to walk away without doing the show and by agreeing to an extremely low budget so that they could offset the risk of giving me this freedom because they are risking less money,” he recently explained on Reddit. “I have had conversations with them about very few moments in the show but zero battles.”
