While HBO’s newest half-hour comedy series, which stars Jason Schwartzman and our personal favorite, Zach Galifianakis, isn’t coming to a television near you until this September, they’ve just released the first promo online, and we think it looks promising.
Entitled, Bored to Death, the premise has Schwartzman playing a struggling, boozy Brooklyn writer who decides, after reading a voluminous number of Raymond Chandler and Dashiell Hammett novels, that he can become a private detective himself. So he takes out an ad, and starts handling cases. As one would expect, there are plenty of people telling him that what he’s doing is both insane and illegal, but nothing ever could stop good ol’ Max Fischer.
