At first glance the images in David Meskhi’s Sport School series look like discarded Cold War-era relics, the kind of vintage treasures that you’d discover while digging through bins at a flea market. In reality, these black and white photographs of gymnasts in training were all snapped by the Berlin-based, Georgian photographer back in the early aughts. Click through for a slideshow of the action shots that he captured, stunning portraits of fit young things swinging from bars, jumping on trampolines, and pummeling the pommel horse.
