We’ve seen lots of tilt-shift videos before, but rarely do we come across one as complex and frankly excellent as this. As part of his “Small Worlds” project, in which Keith Loutit documents great cities, landscapes, and monuments in miniature, Loutit has paired up with Brazil-based director and musician Jarbas Agnelli to create “The City of Samba,” an amazing tilt-shift recreation of the 2011 Carnival party in Rio de Janeiro. The short film is wildly colorful, mind-blowingly intricate, and almost as fun as being there (okay, maybe not quite). Click through to watch the video — we recommend full screen — and then be sure to check out Loutit’s website for more information and to check out even more of his work.
