Let’s be honest: We don’t really want our favorite eccentric artists to stop being weird. What would we do if James Franco stopped constantly inserting himself into all levels of culture, from soap operas to conceptual art? Or Roseanne gave up on politics? So, let us be the first to thank the one and only Fiona Apple for giving her forthcoming album the following 23-word title: The Idler Wheel is wiser than the Driver of the Screw, and Whipping Cords will serve you more than Ropes will ever do. It kind of sounds like Emily Dickinson, right, but we’re pretty sure it’s pure Fiona. It’s also about a quarter the length of her second album’s title, which is actually a full poem and briefly held the world record for longest album title. Welcome back, Fiona! [via Pitchfork]
