Amazing Thrift Store Shirt Installations

Share:

We spotted the work of Finnish artist Kaarina Kaikkonen on Design You Trust and were mesmerized by her rows of hanging clothes. Chances are, if you’re missing that favorite t-shirt or you’ve donated to a thrift store in her area lately, your duds are probably hanging from a rope in one of the artist’s installations. Kaikkonen only uses second-hand clothing and other recycled materials for her works that are often composed of thousands of shirts, jackets, and other clothing. Sometimes they are lined up in neat rows like an oversized color gradient, and other times they are tautly attached to trees and flagpoles. Check out more of Kaikkonen works in our gallery below, and feel guilty about that pile of laundry you’ve been avoiding all week.
