As we mentioned a while back, we find Game of Thrones‘ resident teen sadist Joffrey Baratheon one of the creepiest characters on TV right now. So you can only imagine how shocked we were to come across this article in the Independent about Jack Gleeson, the actor who plays the bratty young king, recently being named a scholar at Trinity College, where he’s currently studying philosophy and theology. In real life, he sounds like such a sweet, nerdy innocent — you know, as opposed to the kind of guy who makes his fiancée watch her dad get his head lopped off.
“After Game of Thrones I’d be happy to do some amateur plays but I don’t think I want to do any more professional acting,” he says. “I’d like to be an academic, a philosophy lecturer if possible. I’d do a Masters in Ancient Hebrew maybe, and a PhD hopefully, if I get in… The thing about that level of acting is that it is very financially rewarding but for me it is a balancing act.” What you think Cersei would say if she heard this crazy talk?
