Gritty, Arresting Street Photography from Brooklyn

Share:

From the streets to the housing projects, to the shops, parks, and cemeteries, photographer Anna Delany captures the neighborhoods of New York often overlooked by the media. Far from her native New Zealand, Delany’s stays close to Brooklyn’s Bedford-Stuyvesant. She shoots in black & white 35mm film, bringing a certain grittiness to her portraits and street photography that reminds a bit of Boogie, but with its own, almost journalistic sensibility. The photographer has recently shown at the Klughaus gallery and splits her time between New York and New Zealand. See a selection of her work in our slideshow.
