We can always count on 50 Watts to point us towards quality vintage illustrations from the far reaches of the world, and this week is no different — they recently clued us into these fantastic surreal illustrations from a 1925 Japanese edition of Aesop’s Fables designed by artist Takeo Takei. We love sifting through the whimsical pictures, trying to identify our favorite stories without any English words, and these are particularly adorable, whether we can tell what they’re representing or not. Leaf through a few of our favorite illustrations from the book after the jump, and then head over to 50 Watts to see many more.
