What’s On at Flavorpill: The Links That Made the Rounds in Our Office

Today at Flavorpill, we watched 135 space shuttles launch at the same moment. We wanted to eat this full-length evening gown homage to Alexander McQueen fashioned out of 50,000 gummy bears. We wished we could be best friends with Rachel Dratch, even after witnessing her try to French kiss a piece of pizza. We tried to pretend like we weren’t a least a tiny bit curious what a 100% ground bacon burger tastes like. We discovered the best and worst places in the world to be a woman. We were impressed by what one artist has done with thousands of feet of unspooled VHS tape. We listened to famous writers like Chinua Achebe, Martin Amis, and Maya Angelou read their own work aloud. We got excited about Sacred Bones’ deluxe vinyl reissue of David Lynch’s Eraserhead soundtrack. We were fascinated by this weird video of a 32-year-old guy talking to his 12-year-old self. We visited Beijing’s Olympic ruins. And finally, we enjoyed MentalFloss’ roundup of 10 famous musical duos and how they met, inspired by John Lennon and Paul McCartney’s first encounter 55 years ago this week.
