This week the internet delivers a gift in the form of Jude Law in drag, as part of an ensemble cast in Sally Potter‘s latest film RAGE. The assembled actors, and the film’s plot, are slightly confusing: Dame Judi Dench, Eddie Izzard, Steve Buscemi, John Leguizamo, Dianne Wiest, model Lily Cole, and Law as Minx the supermodel are profiled on neon background performing monologues about the fickle field of fashion, dahling. IMDB describes RAGE as a murder mystery narrated via cell phone interviews shot by a young fashion blogger. Blogging: subversive!
More character study shorts are posted on Babelgum, and we’re placing bets that Jude in smoky eyes and a strapless dress will be the highlight of this conceptual film. Model Lily Cole remains curiously silent in the preview of her cinema debut; perhaps she’s saving her chops for Heath Ledger buzz vehicle The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus , out later this year.
According to the official website, RAGE will be distributed on mobile technology and internet alongside its digital screen and DVD release. The producers are also giving away 100 tickets to the movie premiere on September 24.
