The Photographers Gallery in London invited 204 photographers around the globe to participate in an ambitious outdoor exhibition that celebrates Londoners in different countries — each one originating from the competing nations in this year’s Olympics. “The World in London celebrates London as a place where individuals from all parts of the world live side by side, each of them contributing to make London the unique city it is,” the gallery’s website explains. You can visit the beautiful, intimate portraits — which website It’s Nice That tipped us off to — at two venues: Victoria Park until August 12 and Park House through August 30. If you’re not in London, click through to see more photos, then visit the project’s website to hear the personal stories behind each image.
